Welcome to the Guidance Department at WEHS!

Mrs. Alison Brady is the Guidance Counselor, and Mrs. Cathy Smith is the Career Specialist. Working as a close team, they hope to accomplish many things this school year!

The purpose of the guidance program is to help each student succeed in the areas of personal/social, academic, and career development. Services include classroom guidance, individual counseling, group counseling, crisis counseling, consultation and referral. IGP conferences are held annually to assist students and parents in exploring and deciding on post-secondary decisions. A referral to guidance can be made in person, via telephone, or email. Mrs. Smith serves as the Career Specialist at Williston-Elko High School. Career Exploration is a big part of the guidance office. The students are given opportunities to go on field trips, go job shadowing, participate in Work-Based Learning, take career assessment tests, and research their top career choices. Throughout high school, they will learn about job skills, finding jobs and creating a resume. The guidance office has abundant information to assist the students. Transcripts can be requested in person or via mail.  The fee is $ 5.00 for an official transcript.  There is no cost for a recent graduate (2020). If the graduate cannot pick up the transcript in person, Guidance must receive written permission to release the official  transcript to another person or entity.
